Crispy Buffalo Tofu

This buffalo tofu will honestly make you not want to have buffalo chicken again. The soft crispiness of the tofu with the spicy buffalo sauce is the ultimate pairing.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 500 g hard tofu
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce
  • 25 g butter
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup blue cheese

Instructions

  • For the buffalo sauce: Mix together melted butter, buffalo sauce until combined and set aside.
  • For the blue cheese dressing: Mix together sour cream, buttermilk, garlic powder, 1 tsp paprika, and crumbled up blue cheese until smooth.
  • Cut hard tofu into even cubes, dry with paper towels to your best ability.
  • Sprinkle with cornflour, 1 tsp paprika, cayenne, salt, pepper and roll the tofu around until covered.
  • In a hot pan add oil to cover the bottom of the pan, add tofu in batches and turn until all sides are golden.
  • Pop cooked tofu on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • Once all the tofu is cooked, pour over the buffalo sauce and serve alongside the blue cheese dressing.
